Organiser's Comments
Well I'm sorry about number 21! Some time between me laying out the controls and you running them, somebody obviously took a fancy to it. I was relieved it was the only one to go,because the Park was heaving with kids on half term while I was setting the controls out. Apart from that there seemed to be few problems, although number 15 took on a life of its own and seemed to wander about, according to those who saw it and those who didn't.
On the whole I was pleased with this, my first event. It was handy to live so close and to know the area well - but I still had a wakeful night a week ago dreaming that everyone was arriving and the controls were still in my boot! I was very pleased so many people came at short notice - it made it all worth while.
I hope the weighting of the controls felt right; I know I hid some of the 3-pointers away rather, but every control was visited at least 6 times, so clearly none were impossible. In retrospect the building base at 18 was probably just too hard to find, and I should have used a less ambiguous feature for 5 than the picnic table that became a noticeboard.
Still, the sun shone, it was an excuse to bump into trees again and goodness knows, we need that after the last few months. Thanks again everyone - see you at Normanby on June 13th.
